Not to be the pedant, but there's a typo in the New Yorker piece: the title of the one collection is 'Cold Hand in Mine'. But, yes, Aickman's a bloody brilliant weaver of chills, first read some of his work about thirty years ago, and have loved it ever since. He's excellent at suggesting the truly horrific in an extremely subtle and even sometimes quite funny way. I hadn't been aware of the most recent collection, will have to seek this out.
