Why does 007 constitute a Cinematic Universe?
It's only ONE franchise.

Why does 007 constitute a Cinematic Universe? It's only ONE franchise. I figured it was because it had it's own well developed and self contained "world" that it exists in. I guess maybe I was using the term incorrectly.

I guess maybe I was using the term incorrectly. Just because I have a concept of Cinematic Universe where multiple franchises can exist, like the Universal Classic Monsters, the MCU, the Viewaskiew Universe (Kevin Smith), even some Tarantino movies. I get STAR WARS because with Rogue One, the Han Solo movie and all it is developing as its own Universe, but I wouldn't say Indiana Jones has its own Universe, and I wouldn't say 007 has one either.

It's a tie between Marvel and Lord of the Rings.

Lord of the Rings/Hobbits. The only universe in which every movie is at least okay-to-good.

Depends what you mean by "favorite."
and btw X-men is Marvel, might be separate presently due to ownership rights, but it very much is the same universe.
Universe that has produced the best movies? Lord of the Rings.
Universe with my favorite characters? Marvel + X-Men (though Gandalf > all)
Universe I'd most like to explore/live in? Star Wars.

In the movie world they are two completely separate franchises that take place in two separate universes that don't crossover. Kind of like how Nolan's trilogy takes place in a separate world than all the other DC movies.
