They had offensive stuff .... This one episode: His dad says , 'how many girls called you yesterday and today, zero?' '0 plus 0 equals Fag son!' It's not offensive for me of course, I couldn't get offended by something that's not a big deal.
Could they make a show that had that in it today? Even on HBO?

Family Guy has far more offensive jokes than that, such as incest and pedophelia jokes.

Yea. But they never said 'fag' on it. So saying fag is more offensive than a man making suggestive comments to his teenage daughter? Okay then. American Dad and Family Guy are far more inappropriate than Kids in the Hall, so I think Kids in the Hall could still come out today. Just don't use the word fag I guess. I think the word fag has just passed it's time.

There's not a 'community' that's offended by the dad making suggestive comments to his daughter is there? It's in poor taste but not offensive to peoples' orientation, see my point dude?
But what i'm saying is the fact that they used the word fag means that the show couldn't come out today, because they used the word fag more than once. I'm saying if everything on that show was done ecactly the same now as it did when the show was being filmed. Then it couldn't be made today. Just like blazing saddles couldn't be made today, because if it did they would have to use the n word again. Dude!

I'm sure they could if one of the main members were gay. You know, like in Kids in the Hall.

You’re so damn stupid. Just finished Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why which came out less than a week ago and the word “fag” was used atleast 3 times in it.

I think what some might be missing is that the word is not used as a punchline anymore. It can still play for drama, but it's not meant to get laughs anymore.

There's a big difference between a gay cast member like Scott Thompson using it and someone not gay on some other show using it to get a laugh at their expense.
