Well... he might be the only actor that has starred only in masterpieces. I'll go with Godfather 2, but there is no wrong answer to this question

The Godfather would be my fave on that list...but my favorite BECAUSE of Cazale is Dog Day Afternoon. He was terrific in that one. Him and Pacino worked magic together.

I love every single one of the five movies films he was in. I have to choose The Godfather for the sheer quality of the film but Cazale's roles got bigger and bigger with each movie. I watch The Deer Hunter every month or so and feel more and more fascinated by his performance.
How many actors appeared exclusively in great films? Olivier, Brando, Burton, Lugosi and many others sold out (for money, food, drink, to pull the strings, ...) at the end of their respective careers. Can you imagine John Cazale in Gigli? Or John Cazale flying around in colorful tights and fighting computer-generated monsters?
His life, short as it was, made an impact on many people even if they never knew his name. His supporting roles remain something we should admire, celebrate and be grateful for. Thank you, John Cazale. Thank you, wherever you are.

I agree. Good stuff for any fan of the late John Cazale.
