Titanic. Haven’t seen it in at least 15 years. The final scene of the film left me an absolute wreck.

Probably Tous les Matins du Monde (All the Mornings of the World) (1991). This is a case where they took an historical figure, Monsieur de Sainte-Colombe, of which very little is known (not even his first name) and expanded his story. Ste. Colombe (1640-1700) was a master of the viola de gamba and was the teacher of Marin Marais.
His wife dies and he becomes a recluse. When he plays, his music reaches into the afterlife and her spirit visits him, but he can't touch or converse with her. The cello-like instrument enhances the poignant mood. It's very moving.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower... 2012 with some blunt emotional impacts I guess. The phone call to his sister lands quite real for instance. There are several little emotional jolts all over that film, good & bad, to make it everlasting. There's something about it all that nothing is sugar coated & yet everything kinda is at the very same time? First, & still only, film I went back to see theatrically within days not weeks. My #33 all time.

Children of Men, just on Saturday, didn't have me crying, but certainly a bit teary. www.youtube.com/results?search_query=children+of+men+cease+fire This scene was just such a hopeful and beautiful scene in what is otherwise such a bleak movie. Also, I couldn't find the scene but the scene where Jasper puts his wife down and is then murdered by Luke has a fantastic cover of Ruby Tuesday by Franco Battiato. Made for a very sad scene.

The ceasefire is one of the most emotionally powerful scenes I've ever seen. Children of Men is such a fantastic movie. I hope Cuarón makes a sci-fi or thriller again in his career, his ideas are so original and beautifully executed.

I don't remember. Probably a rewatch of a great film. As far as I know there hasn't been a cry-worthy new release movie in years.

I rewatched The Professional ( Leon) (1994) last week, the scene near the end where Leon says goodbye to Mathilda and forces her to escape to safety got me a little emotional. What a great film!

The Last Movie Star...if you're a Burt Reynolds fan, I dare you to try not tearing up at the end.
