Aj_June For what it's worth … really no reason to not use the kitchen.. especially in day or when you have the lights on. Mice, rats etc are more wanting to avoid you than you are wanting to avoid them. I get mice invasions in the fall and see them scurrying across the doorway in the TV room and know it's time to set the traps. Good luck ! Keep us posted on the hunt ! Here is the update:
I decided to use this thing:
Well...fast action? Well it seems it is opposite of fast action. And kills in a single feed? The bloody rat is enjoying it. I have thrown 4 packs so far and it has it all of them. This bloody monster has made my life a living hell. This seems to be supernatural rat. I can't do anything to get my kitchen back.

Aj_June Try the dental floss and peanut butter BIG snap trap again ! Last Trap that I had brought from the store was not big enough. I have asked my friend to get me a bigger trap. Let's see what happens when I set a new trap.
So far
Rat 3 Human 0
Rat has beaten me in 3 ways. Poison failed, previous rat trap failed and chasing it to scare it failed.

There's a product my family has used called "Tomcat Mouse Killer" traps. I think it's been sold at either Wal-Mart, Home Depot or Menards. It's basically a little box that you put the poisonous bait in it that the mouse eats which will kill it off.

Find an exotic pet shop, buy a boa constrictor, let it loose in the house. Problem solved.

Have used the most commonly available poison here in Australia but it didn't work. Might have to look out for this type of poison in a specialist shop.
