Colorful cinematography-wise and/or art direction-wise.
These are the only ones that come to mind: -BLOOD AND BLACK LACE. -THE NEON DEMON. -THE SHINING. -SUSPIRIA.
Please, specify if you think the movie(s) you choose is(are) good overall (having one good aspect isn't always enough).

I don't feel like it was a horror movie. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master Hmmm... I don't remember if it was colorful. I'll have to check.

Nosferatu - Phantom of Der Nacht (Werner Herzog) Really? I don't remember it being colorful. Quite the opposite, actually.

I agree with House (1977), but it's been a long time since I've watched it, also: Cube (1997) - Still one of my favourite movies. Rosemary's Baby (I remember the clothing and furniture being quite colorful) Dawn of the Dead (1978) (Tom Savini's blood + film stock) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (perhaps it was just the film stock used, but from what I remember this movie quite literally bleeds color everywhere, although that might just be my memories of the VHS transfer) Planet Terror (don't know if I'd class it as horror?) I was going to say Hobo with A Shotgun, but it's not really a horror movie...

Any release by Hammer Horror, especially their early stuff with Cushing and Lee.

...vits...you may be referring to the silent 1922 Max Schreck version of Nosferatu.
The Werner Herzog version was made in 1979 and has incredibly colorful set pieces, especially in the Count's castle.

Another bunch of movies I've seen where I didn't pay attention to the colors! Planet Terror (don't know if I'd class it as horror?) I think it's an action horror comedy. I was going to say Hobo with A Shotgun, but it's not really a horror movie... Yeah, it's not... despite being a spin-off of PLANET TERROR. ...vits...you may be referring to the silent 1922 Max Schreck version of Nosferatu. The Werner Herzog version was made in 1979 and has incredibly colorful set pieces, especially in the Count's castle. I had a feeling you'd say that. I've seen both movies and I remember the remake having grey and beige set pieces and a desaturated cinematography... However, I saw it years ago, so maybe I don't remember it well. Actually, I think they showed it on a channel that didn't always use the versions with the best quality of each movie.

Mario Bava's The Whip and the Body (1963).
Topnotch gothic ghost story with a strong element of sadomasochism.

Please, specify if you think the movie(s) you choose is(are) good overall (having one good aspect isn't always enough). "Blood and Black Lace" is one of my all-time favorite movies, and my favorite Mario Bava. If you enjoyed that movie for its use of color and the sets, you really owe it to yourself to see all of Bava's movies (though 2 or 3 were in black and white.) ANd the first one you need to see is "Black Sabbath" (1963) It is gorgeous! "Suspiria" had a very cool look, too. Dario Argento is another director who is primarily visual. Though I do prefer Bava somewhat. A lot of the early 60s Roger Corman horror productions are very colorful, stylish (And sometimes very scary) films, e.g., "The Pit and the Pendulum", "Masque of the Red Death" and "The Terror". And they're just a lot of fun. There's a German thriller called "The College Girl Murders" (1967) It's pretty cheesy, but it's got a cool soundtrack and it has super saturated colors for you.

"Dracula"(1979) on VHS and laserdisc looked like classic Hammer horror and is the best Dracula movie ever made. Unfortunately, the Blurays and DVDs only have de-saturated color because nobody can do anything right anymore.

I hesitate to mention that film around here these days, since it seems I am one of the very few who appreciate just how good it was.

Andy Warhol's "Frankenstein"(1973) has the color saturated Hammer look. I haven't seen it in a long time so I don't remember how good it is. I just remember lots of nudity, gore, and eroticism.

I think if "Dracula"(1979) ever got a correct color Bluray, it may become appreciated by today's audiences. I can't blame them for not wanting to look at the murky looking releases only available now. It's a shame when director's go insane and become unreasonable idiots years later.
