The young critic who became a masterful filmmaker with a legacy that will live on forever. I love so many of his films, including:
The 400 Blows - a favorite of all films and what a debut!
Jules and Jim Shoot the Piano Player The Wild Child Day for Night

I have seen seven Truffaut films. The one I saw the earliest (within a year or two after its initial release) and remember the least is Fahrenheit 451 (1966). May have to get back to that one some time or other.
The 400 Blows (1959) and Day For Night (1973) are undoubted masterpieces, IM-not so-HO.
The Bride Wore Black (1978) is his Hitchcock homage and a lot of fun.
I have liked all the others I have seen very much.
Shoot The Piano Player (1960) The Last Metro (1980) Confidentially Yours (1983)

I saw Fahrenheit 451 when it was first released, and for whatever reason I didn't warm to it, despite the interesting cast and story and its wonderful director. Have never seen it since, but maybe I should. And I didn't see The Bride Wore Black, which I would probably enjoy greatly. But, oh man, do I love The 400 Blows!

The Last Metro is one of my very favorite films. Other favorites of his include Stolen Kisses, Day for Night, Mississippi Mermaid, The Wild Child, The Story of Adele H, and Small Change. And of course, 400 Blows, Shoot the Piano Player, and Jules and Jim live up to their reputations. His final film, Confidentially Yours, was most rnjoyable too. A truly great durector.

I haven't seen all his films, but have seen a lot and have never seen one that I thought wasn't good (or sometimes great), even Fahrenheit 451, which is not a favorite, but I have to acknowledge is still good. That's one I'd previously seen but didn't watch recently. Probably needs a rewatch. I wasn't a big fan of A Gorgeous Kid Like Me or The Man Who Loved Women, but enjoyed everything else I saw.

EDIT: For some reason your link doesn't take me to your thread. Can you post that specific link? I'd enjoy taking a look at it.
Sorry, I only linked the board. Here's the thread, it's a little less comprehensive than yours.

Something about jules and jim feels very polarizing to me. That's an interesting observation. Can you elaborate? I don't if I didnt quite find the situation resounding or the characters appealing enough, but it didn't quite stick the landing for me.

Sorry, I only linked the board. Here's Ithe thread, it's a little less comprehensive than yours. Thanks. And it seems I'm really missing something by not having seen The Bride Wore Black (need to remedy that), and that I also need to see Fahrenheit 451 again.
I need to see Fahrenheit again.

This is going to sound like a cop-out, but having almost seen all of Francois Truffaut's movies now (think I have 2 left), I've pretty much enjoyed them all to varying degrees. It's hard to pick favourites, I think I just warm to his style.
