I've only read American Pastoral and found it only somewhat engaging and very wordy. The story, a family amid the stormy Vietnam era, will be overly familiar to anyone who lived through those years. I think you posted a link to the movie and many posters shared that view.
The movie Goodbye, Columbus was big in its day but it's now largely forgotten. It made Ali McGraw a star (for a while) and should have done the same for Jack Klugman.

I think I've only seen The Human Stain. I found it very slow and laboured.
