Vincent D'Onfrio's Homicide: Life On The Street episode was the finest hour of TV I've ever watched. Homicide was a brilliant show that should have been much more popular. I think it was better than it's successor The Wire. The Subway episode with D'Onfrio was great. Andre Braugher's Frank Pembleton is in my top 10 greatest TV characters. The episode with Robin Williams was also top notch TV but every episode of Homicide was near perfection if you ask me.
That said, my vote for Best TV drama episode always goes to The X-Files Jose Chung's From Outer Space.

Gotta agree with the folks saying The Shield. That entire last season still stays in my mind. Even the second last episode when SPOILER ALERT Shane kills his family and himself. Great character. You go from loathing him to rooting for him against Vic somewhat. Great acting. Great writing. I always wonder what Vic is thinking in that last scene when he grabs his gun, smiles and heads off.
Great show.
