Maybe all the land animals were babies. Or maybe the story doesn't need to be taken 100% literally. As i have already stated in this thread "I don`t take the story literally as i view the bible as a fantasy book with made up stories about things that never happened, "

If it literally happened, I figure God just shrank the kids. Made the lions 1/100 inch tall, and so forth. And took away the need for bodily functions. After all, he's God. That cat God is one bad mother hush your mouth. That's if it literally happened. I wasn't there, but I'll ask him. He's right over there. No, not there! Over there! Over there! Oh, too late, he moved! You keep missing him. He's sitting next to Santa Claus (over there).

There may have been a giant local flood. I've seen some evidence for that. But I don't think it was a global thing (if it happened at all). To me, there are lessons to draw from it regardless of how neatly it lines up to actual history.

I think that God took all the DNA codes of every living creature, in duplicate in a shoe box, using a shoehorn to fit them all in, made out of unicorn horn, with pink sparkles.
DNA codes can be quite expansive and not to mention bossy!
They also got seasick which nearly foiled God's cunning plan!

There was more than one Ark but the Hebrews didn't know that.
