i saw the remake of the Thomas crown affair in theaters. i loved it.

the 2013 version of carrie. loved it but i also love the other two equally. they all have their own planes of existences.

father of the bride -- the one with steve martin. cute enough. went trashy during the sequel.

robin hood: men in tights. loosely based remake i guess.

stepford wives. still can't sit through the original.



the following are remakes i did not know were remakes...
my father the hero -- with Gerard Depardieu.

a perfect murder -- the Gwyneth Paltrow/Michael Douglas.

shall we dance? the dance class movie with Richard gere

thirteen ghosts with that monk dude.

I made the mistake of going to see "The Manchurian Candidate" (2004) and hated it beyond words. I believe this was an actual remake rather than another version of the original book. It even included some elements of later fan fiction based on the 1964 film masterpiece.

However, I do NOT consider 2017's "Murder On The Orient Express" to be a remake of Sidney Lumet's 1974 film of the Agatha Christie novel. It is a completely different take on the story and the character of Hercule Poirot.

I also saw Joss Whedon's film of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" in the theater but here, too, there is nothing in it to suggest a remake of the 1996 Kenneth Branagh film.
