With streaming services such as HULU, NETFLIX, and AMAZONprime and Premium Channels such as HBO and STARZ doing great quality mini-series and television series. It has come to my attention there are films that would have been better as a mini-series or television series for a quality network provider.
Watchmen (2009) (the directors cut) is still one of my favorite superhero films. I think it would work better as a 13 part series with 45 minute - 1 hour episodes.
Wyatt Earp (1994) With Kevin Costner. I loved "Hatfields & McCoys" as a three part, 2 hour series. I think Wyatt Earp had potential. It was either too long or too short. They either needed to cut it down to a two hour cinematic experience, or extend it to six hours and make it a 3 part mini series.
Zombieland (2009) as a tv series. I would have 10 episodes at 30 minutes a piece. Each episode has a zombie kill of the week, and they come across a new person or celebrity guest each season.
Thought?
Any others?

What would be the 13th episode of Watchmen? Since the comic is 12 parts.
I agree with Watchmen, though.

Die Hard! Every week John McClane fights terrorists while dealing with the duties of marriage and parenthood.
"This week on Die Hard! McClane takes Lucy to the mall for a new bike but has to fight international terrorists who have taken the Toys R Us staff hostage. Guest stars Eric Bogosian, Emmanuel Lewis, Nancy McKeon.
I have an opposite view. I think Sliders would have made a great movie in the vein of Back to the Future instead of a tv series that had to go cheap on the alternate worlds.

Nearly every Scorsese picture longer than 2hrs.
This thought came to me watching Casino a few months ago. Instead of marathoning such a fine picture, having it 3-5 episodes of television nowadays might've been incredible.

Lincoln (2012) - I like the movie, but it would have worked better as a miniseries.

Goodfellas, Casino, and Wolf of Wallstreet would have been a helluva Mini-Series each. Maybe 3 parts at 2 hours a piece (6 hours).

The shining Carrie (I kinda see this like Smallville) Christine Anne of Green Gables (the Megan Follows version) There was that 1997 TV miniseries for The Shining. i know. whereas there will always be a special place in my heart for the 1980 version of the shining. i prefer the miniseries with Rebecca demorney. just... they should have done that either first or have done it for longer -- like how dallas first started

The original Carrie would have made a great sitcom.
