For those who care, Exorcist II: The Heretic will be getting a blu-ray release from Shout! Factory on Sep. 25th. Extras have not been announced yet.
I myself despise this turkey, so I won't be bothering with it.

So an infamous movie like Exorcist II gets priority and top-notch treatment on Blu-ray and yet famous movies like True Lies and The Abyss are nowhere in sight?

Hard to believe such a horrible film is getting a Shout release. What's the market for this? I'm sure it'll be priced at $25 too.
What's next? A 4K remaster of Battlefield Earth? Lol.

I already have this crap in my Exorcist 5-pack, and it's definitely the weakest link of the whole series.

I myself despise this turkey, so I won't be bothering with it. Shout did do a great job with the Exorcist III Legion release... but then again E3 was an underrated sequel.

Exorcist III is a far better movie (the hospital hallway scene alone makes it great).

There are far better movies that deserve a Shout Factory release before that turd.

Yeah release The Exorcist II on Blu-ray rather than Dawn of the Dead (1978). Good thinking.

This is one movie that really doesnt deserve getting a special edition, especially from Shout! Factory.

Well, hopefully this sets a precedent and Scream Factory will get to releasing other gems like Hellraiser: Hellworld and Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror.
Fingers crossed!

I am happy that Shout / Scream Factory are now working with Warner Brothers on WB's titles. But I'd sooner see Eyes of a Stranger, From Beyond the Grave, The Hand, A Stranger is Watching, He Knows You're Alone, etc. get Blu releases before a turkey like Exorcist II. Makes you wonder WHY they would fast-track that one.

I heard that The Abyss was SUPPOSEDLY being worked on for a Blu-ray release, but I think that was supposed to happen in 2017. Haven't heard any more about that.
