Just seen this, was a great, great movie, and it seems very underrated. Rarely do you get to see a treat of two cinematic icons like this together, combined with a very powerful story. Kind of a mini Irish Braveheart with a strong moral dilemma. Rather straight forward plot, but hits high emotional notes. Not so much a thriller as an action-drama. Also a great score by James Horner. Highly recommended.
"It's not an American story, it's an Irish one." Grim, but very touching film.

I kept hearing how terrible this was;apparently Pitt hates this movie. I found it okay with two great lead characters, a 6/10 for me. Didn't find Treat Williams' character that realistic or threatening a villain though.

I like it very much – 7/10. Brad Pitt puts in a fine performance as an IRA terrorist in the US.

I didnt care for it so much. I found it rather dull. Not a bad film though.

Pitt's accent was all over the place but I thought it was quite entertaining from what I remember.

Didn't find Treat Williams' character that realistic or threatening a villain though. I remember being impressed back when I first caught it on television in the early 00s, but seeing it again last year it had not aged well. Pitt was at times terrible in the lead and Ford was not all that great either. No real chemistry and several scenes felt very rushed and I agree that Williams was a poor choice of a villain. All in all I found it to be much weaker than I had remembered it as and gave it a very kind 6/10.
