"This time, they've brought their guns to the city." A trigger happy undercover cop trying to infiltrate a poweful gang of criminals ends up getting more than he could bargain for during a big heist when he is accidentally involved in the murder of an innocent bystander and in the hectic situation a ritual sword belonging to a group of native americans is stolen. As an result, the murder victims relative is of to an relentless manhunt of getting the family sword back again, but in order to do so he must first put his trust in the man he is blaming for the killing of his brother.
Another late 80s buddy cop action film and which I have not seen in ages, but remember enjoying it and thought that Kiefer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Phillips were a great team in a maybe not so great movie but that it was still much better than what the critics may have said of it at the time. Having seen a few of Lou and Kiefer's own solo action titles made in the late 90s and early 00s, I gotta say, Renegades is probably among their better work. Also if not mistaken The Lost Boys (1987) babe Jami Gertz appear along with a rockin' Bryan Adams song as well.

The film doesn’t do anything outside the norm of most buddy action films, but it keeps up a good pace and the chemistry between the pair really clicks. Sutherland and Diamond Phillips working together in the previous year’s “Young Guns” probably contributed to that.

I never saw this one, but man is that movie poster reminiscent of my childhood.I used to love walking around the video store looking at the VHS the VHS covers and imagining what the movies were about.
