DAYS’s Bryan R. Dattilo (Lucas) posted a cryptic tweet, indicating that he might be leaving Salem. “25 years. 2 months. 12 days. And 4 hours. Good run. Thanks to my Days family and fans. Enjoy Lucas while you can,” he posted. The fan favorite actor marked a quarter century on the show in April.
It looks like they’re cleaning up house at Days. Especially with some of the vets. I’m wondering if it was his decision or tptb? I’m sorry to see him go but he doesn’t really fit into the show anymore. Lucas and Chloe do not make an interesting couple at all. I really think they should reunite Chloe with Brady. Nadia and Eric have good chemistry together.

It's sad that the writers never know what to do with Lucas. He is on recurring, so they could just say he is not needed and he won't be used.

Really? Ugh. Why do they insist on keeping dull, dumb, boring RAFE but they can't give Lucas anything to do? He has ties to multiple families on the show and is basically a legacy character. This annoys me.
Let's be hopeful that maybe he was just celebrating an anniversary...

This is such a longstanding tradition, running over the course of numerous head writers; and I just don't get it. They clearly don't hate Bryan, since they keep bringing him back, yet they can't be bothered to find something worth doing for him; he's just the show's punching bag, even though he's a member of the core family of the show. I've wanted to see Bill Horton come back and shift the focus back to the Horton family through him, his children and their children, etc.; including of course Lucas. There would still be room for all of the other main characters, but they'd be the anchor again, and provide the show with some focus.
