Whenever I buy a book I usually force myself to finish it, even if it's terrible. Last night I finally forced myself to look at the words of the last 30 pages of All Stories Are Love Stories.
Take my advice. If someone gives you this book for free don't take it.

yeah. i understand what you mean. i read sTORItelling from cover to cover and learned some really great things: tori spelling really is as stupid as her character in BH90210 and b: whereas shannen DID kind of make them fire her with her behavior you really can't get past the fact that tori called dear ole dad to get her fired. if execs aren't going to handle this and protect their other cast members from being injured, then why should you pull the daddy card?
I felt embarrassed for her because of how it was 'edited'. it jumped around a lot from person/incident to person/incident and even within the person's interaction with tori from what happened years ago to more recently. and didn't tell you where to have your mindset. i only make scorecards for events and people when reading something historical/for school or something big: HENRY VII OR MARIE ANTOINETTE. i shouldn't have to create scorecards for a fluff piece.

I used to do this with films until I realized life is too short. Now I bail after 20 minutes/50 pages.

Thackeray's Vanity Fair forced me to drop that habit.

I used to finish everything I started reading until I hit "The Great Gatsby", a "learned tome" on humor (one of the most unfunny things I've ever tried to read) and one other book I can't recall. Those 3 coming close together finally broke me of it.

I once disclosed that i was rradinh the lord of the rings and was swiftly labelled a masochist by bsomeone. "Lord of the Rings" was the first book that came to mind when I saw the thread's subject. When it was announced that there was going to be a big-budget film adaptation of the trilogy, I went out and bought all three books at once and eagerly started reading the first one, but I couldn't make it past 100 pages.
