Happy 86th Birthday Marisa Pavan!!! Born on June 19, 1932 in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy Thanks for everything... retired since 1992. Italian-born actress in international movies, and twin sister to Pier Angeli (who sadly died in 1971) Marisa Pavan first became famous as the twin sister of film star Pier Angeli before achieving success in films on her own. Pavan's film debut came in What Price Glory 1952. Her breakthrough came in the film The Rose Tattoo 1955 as Anna Magnani's daughter, her role was first assigned to Angeli, who became unavailable to play the part. Her performance earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Pavan. She also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in that film. Down Three Dark Streets 1953 The Rose Tattoo 1955, with Anna Magnani The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit 1956, with Gregory Peck John Paul Jones 1959, lobby card, with Robert Stack Solomon and Sheba 1959, with Yul Brynner Since 1960 she mostly appeared in guest star roles on several TV-Series, like here in Wonder Woman 1977 Marisa Pavan has acted in over 40 movies and television productions

Saw her in “Down Three Dark Streets” within recent years. Her’s is the best performance in this solid semi-documentary-style (with a narrator, even) procedural. Pavan plays the blind wife of a man serving a jail term. She turns out to be the bravest and most resourceful blind lady ever until Susie Hendrix (“Wait Until Dark” 1967).
It is good to know she is still with us. I wish her good health.

She is the sister of the tragic Pier Angeli--a beautiful actress who was completely dominated by her monster helicopter mother. Pier was unhappily married to crooner Vic Damone, and during their acrimonious divorce, they fought bitterly over custody of their son Perry. After Pier's suicide, her mother literally kidnapped the boy.
I commend Marisa for her courage to break away from her mother and make a life of her own.
