I don't have a mobile phone. I don't believe that anyone is so freaking important as to need one.

Yes, and nothing pisses me off more than when I'm showing a movie to a friend or family member and they sit on their phone the whole time.
I showed my friend Blade Runner 2049 and he sat on his phone most of the time and then said he didn't like it all that much because the story made no sense. No shit; the movie's not going to make sense when you didn't pay attention. The same thing happened with my brother and The Shining. He sat on his phone, then asked question after question and once the movie finally ended he said he didn't like it because it was too rushed and unrealistic. That's why I rarely show people movies anymore unless it's in an actual theater setting. This happens to me all the time. People that can't put snapchat down for 2 hrs really need help. ADHD scum.

At home? Most of the time.
At the theater? Always.

I don't have a mobile phone. I don't believe that anyone is so freaking important as to need one. this is really ignorant and dangerous now. I'm not saying get a smartphone but even a flip phone or one of those jitterbug things.... just for safety purposes. by the grace of god i got mine about 4 days before 9/11. it was a godsend from that day on. and its not about being important. if you hare a regular schmoe and you have MORE THAN ONE, that is stupid.

That good. Have you ever seen a female that's with her boyfriend and asked her to turn it off, then her boyfriend gets mad and then tried to punch you and then you had to defend yourself? Because if so that would suck. That hasn't happened to me. I don't think it will. I always try to ask nicely. Even if it gets violent, I'm sure someone else will call an usher.

Yes. I never have my mobile phone going when I am at the cinemas and I think people who do should be kicked out. There used to be rules at my local cinema that people couldn't have their mobile phones going when they saw movies just like there was in Doctor's waiting rooms with signs to switch off your mobile phones but they got rid of them.

Of course I put my phone away, I'm not a barbarian. Luckily it almost never happens, but I hate it when someone uses their phone at the theaters during the movie. I always put my phone away during a movie, also when I watch one at home.

I think the OP is specifically talking about watching a movie at home. I put my phone away when I watch at home. In the theater the M & M's always remind me to silence my cell phone.

At the theater I always turn it off and at home I usually turn it to silent mode.

Yes, this is what I was really getting at. I think it's obvious most of us detest the usage of phones in movie theaters. My curiosity was with whether or not the bulk of people on here could disconnect while at home as well. My phone always goes down when I watch any movie at home, but I've been around plenty of people who feel OK playing with their phone during the movie and the concept feels alien to me.
