Tell me, NHL fans, will this help tip the scales towards the Isles retaining Tavares?

Itβll definitely help. Having a Stanley Cup winning coach and the rookie of the year on his team improves the outlook of the Isles greatly. He may still think another team could offer him a better chance of winning right now though. Hopefully he stays an Islander.

I think Tavares will sign there. New GM, new coach, soon new Belmont arena or whatever.
Toronto can sell him as being their #2 guy behind Matthews, #1A at the most. It's not like he's had a rough personal life on the island, they've just been aimless on the ice.
Right now today I'd be shocked if he left.

I think he stays. Lamoriello alone is persuasive enough to tip the scales.

Since the beginning i've suspected Tavares would end up staying with the Islanders, but now with Lamoriello and Trotz on board i'm almost 100% sure that he's staying.
