Any fans of the James Bond film "Live and Let Die" starring Roger Moore? How has it held up after 45 years?
I think doing this in the pros and cons method works best for me with this film.
Pro:
-The Paul McCartney title track (also a popular version by Guns N' Roses down below) -Moore is decent in his debut although his best is a few films away -Decent action (Moore getting past the crocodiles is a highlight as well as the speedboat chase) -Solitaire -Villians are decent - Kananga, TeeHee, Baron Samedi
Cons:
-Convoluted plot -Sheriff J.W. Pepper (The "Jar Jar Binks" of James Bond) -Horribly dated film - big afros and sideburns, 70's fashion, pimpmobiles, Blaxploitation stuff, racist language -One character getting "inflated" at the end with poor effects (you know what I'm talking about) -Carver is a pretty weak Bond girl

Pro - Moore isn't yet riding his cheekiness for full character appeal.
Con - Most of its premises are set up well, only to nearly always take the goofy way out.

10/10 An fun and thrilling film that just gets better on each watch. It's one of my favourite Bond movies, and it's opening title song by Paul McCartney is also one of my favourites. Jane Seymour being in it doesn't hurt either.

I would also add David Hedison as Felix Leiter as a pro. But the biggest cons of the film are not perceived by watching the movie, they are perceived by reading the book. The book contains at least two iconic scenes that never made it into the film version. Although they were later filmed for other Bond films, namely: Bond Keel-HauledFelix Fed to the Sharks

Re-watched it not so long ago, and it's still entertaining in a Bond kind of way.
Nice memories too, watched it a small local cinema with an enthusiastic audience. Sometimes it's good to be tall, as I was allowed in even if I was underaged.

It's not of my favorite Bond films, but it has one of the best Bond title songs.
Pros: Roger Moore does a pretty job playing Bond in his first outing Paul McCartney's classic title song The classic speedboat chase although it overstays its welcome After several films of Bond battling SPECTRE, it was a refreshing turn to have Bond tackle inner city crime Jane Seymour doesn't do too much in the film, but she was a beautiful Bond girl David Hedison was excellent as Felix Leiter Tee-Hee Johnson and Baron Samedi were interesting henchmen
Cons: Kananga's death was stupid and laughable Sheriff J.W. Pepper Thin storyline held together by repetitive action sequences The blaxploitation elements dates the film
