"They're urban, they're vermin, and THEY exterminate YOU!"A group of exterminators is brought in on a rescue mission by a beautiful young woman who are in desperate need of some help, as her newly purchased house seems to be occupied by a bunch of rather unpleasant and nasty looking creatures. I first caught a hold of this cheesy but still very enjoyable low budget horror-comedy back in the late 90s, when it was to be aired on late night cable and since I never got the title, it took years before I finally found out which one it was, and while maybe not among the "greatest" of many titles having been distributed or produced by Troma, I thought it was still worthy to pick up and have another go at. What amazed me first was how 1980s looking the film was, and my surprise to learn later on that it was made in 1997, when it had the feel and atmosphere of a movie made 10 years earlier. But that is just part of the b-movie charm, or so I like to think. Bugged! is pretty much a low budget blaxploitation film that comes with some hilarious and very entertaining practical effects that makes me think of some of the earlier work that of Peter Jackson and Stuart Gordon.
