Awesome news everybody!!! The lead actress for 'Razor' has been officially announced. I have to say out of all the upcoming comic book movies 'Razor' has been one of the movies I have been looking forward to seeing the most since it was first announced last year and as a longtime fan of the comic book series I have been waiting years to see this on screen. This will mark the first time we have ever had a Horror female superhero movie and a superhero movie with a bisexual female lead. 'Razor' had a reputation for being one of the most violent and controversial comic books ever made but was also big seller outselling a lot of DC and Marvel's biggest names in the 90s at its peak. Unlike other superheroes Razor slashes villains into pieces and decapitates them and even cuts their penises off and if you have a weak stomach this movie won't be for you 'cause it is going to be a full on blood bath with loads of blood and gore and I am glad to hear unlike the awful adaption of 'Faust' we got Rob Cohen has said it won't be watered down.
What is even greater is they are looking to set it up as a movie franchise which shouldn't be hard to do 'cause there is a lot of material to draw from and Razor not only kills criminals she also fights monsters, vampires, demons and werewolves (she become a vampire for a while) and she trains a lot of rape victims and former prostitutes she saves to become superheroes too and save other people and kill criminal scumbags like rapists, pedophiles and serial killers. There has also been of adapting the spin off series 'Strike' but I am hoping if they spin one character off it is 'Shi' who debuted in Razor and went on to have a lot of comic books of her own and teamed up with a lot of other superheroes.

‘Gifted’ Actress Emma Dumont To Star In ‘Razor’ Comic Film Adaption From Rob Cohen
EXCLUSIVE: Emma Dumont, who stars in Fox’s X-Men based series, The Gifted, has been tapped as the eponymous lead in Razor, a film from director Rob Cohen, which he adapted from the comic book series of the name by Everett Hartsoe. The Crow producer Jeff Most will produce Razor with Grant Cramer (Lone Survivor), Anna Wang (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2), Christopher Milburn (Hunter’s Prayer), and Philip Lee (The Dark Knight).
Dumont will star as Nicole Mitchell, a young woman who, as a ten-year-old, witnesses her cop father’s murder by a gang of upwardly mobile crime figures who seek to thwart his investigation into their nefarious activities. The trauma lands her in a sanitarium for a decade in which time she develops a complex plan of revenge on the murderers.
In the comics, Nicole, in an effort to rid the evil in Chinatown, becomes the superheroine Razor, characterized by her suit which is equipped with razors on her arms.
This project has franchise potential written all over it. Furthermore, Cohen is best known for creating and directing the debut films for The Fast and the Furious and the XXX franchises.
“Emma is a renaissance woman,” said director Cohen. “She’s a wonderful actress, a professional ballet dancer, and is currently getting her degree in Robotics Engineering. I have her training in Krav Maga and, believe me, there is nothing she can’t do.”
Most added, “Emma was born to play Razor. She is the embodiment of Everette Hartsoe’s comic character come to life. Emma naturally exudes the inner strength, acumen, athleticism, vulnerability, likability and street-wise intelligence that are the hallmarks of “Razor”. I couldn’t be more excited about finding the right actress in Emma to bring the character of Razor to life.”
Movie View International, Big Fish, Head Gear, and Truth Fair Investment are backing the project.
Dumont will return as Lorna Dane aka Polaris when season 2 of The Gifted debuts in the fall. The actress made her film debut in director Craig Johnson’s True Adolescents, alongside Melissa Leo and Mark Duplass, and appeared in the 2012 indie Nobody Walks opposite Dylan McDermott and John Krasinski.
Dumont is repped by APA, Untitled Entertainment, and Bloom, Hergott, Diemer, Rosenthal.
