BEST The American
WORST Batman & Robin
tbh really really not a fan of this guy as an actor. He always comes across so smug in every role (at least in The American it was subtle lol) very limited range too.

He's like the anti-Clooney in that movie. If you haven't seen it, don't let the trailers fool you. It isn't the film that was advertised at all.

I have mixed feelings about Clooney, I agree with jakesully. He almost always comes across as the smug guy that has an answer for everything.
I'll have to second The American though, it was a good film with some great location shooting.
Gravity was good although it's a ridiculous story, it's beautifully shot.
Hail, Caesar was actually pretty great, not sure why it gets dumped on so much. It was hilarious seeing Clooney get slapped around Josh Brolin.
Batman & Robin was pretty terrible, I'll have to agree with others that's among one of his worst.
The Peacemaker was typical Clooney, but Kidman helps tone it down a bit.
Good Night and Good Luck was okay, kind of dull. The whole McCarthy era and the proceedings/naming names should be much more exciting than this.

The only movies of his that stand out from the pack (i.e. 7/10 or higher)...
1)The American (2010) - 9/10 (within my Top 26 movies) 2)Up in the Air (2009) - 8-8.5/10 (not much outside of my Top 26 movies) 3)The Descendants (2011) - 8/10 (within my Top 56 movies) 4)O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) - 7.5-8/10 (within my Top 105 movies) NOTE: everything else is a 6/10 (a mild Thumbs Up) at best.
p.s. as for worst... Syriana (2005)(2/10)/Three Kings (1999)(2/10)/Hail, Caesar! (2016)(4/10)/Batman & Robin (1997)(4/10). those are the only movies of his that are 'below average' or lower. for the record... I liked Three Kings at one point but could not finish it due to boredom on March 9th 2015.
