www.thrillist.com/drink/nation/beers-that-changed-america-influential-beers-and-breweriesNatty Boh! National Bohemian First brewed: 1885 What it changed: Besides improving the collective mood of Baltimore residents for generation upon generation, Natty Boh forever altered the beer landscape in 1943 when it became the first brewer to make its suds available in canned six-packs. Was this nod to convenience and American ingenuity singlehandedly responsible for defeating Hitler? No. But it certainly didn’t hurt.

I remember when some guys at Michigan State went on a road trip to get Coors, which was good then and could only be gotten west of the Mississippi.

...back in the 1950's, there was a brew called "Bullfrog" which had a greenish tinge. And there was also Meistar Brau, the first beer sold as a draft beer in quart bottles. And I remember "Tavern Pale" from Peter Hand Brewing...

koskiewicz, nutsberryfarm 🏜: that was a fine list there, nuts. Thanks for posting.
Did you two ever hear of a beer named "Griesedieck"? It was popular in certain mid-western and eastern markets. Some friends of my parents always swore by it. I always laughed when they talked about it, though, because its pronunciation sounds like "greasy dick" LOL.

nutsberryfarm 🏜: ah yes, I remember Lowenbrau, too! Good memories...
BTW, I finally got around to opening my bottle of Noel Delirium Belgian Ale that you commented on some time back on the old F&D board. Damn fine beer! Probably the richest, most intense beer I've ever drunk!

nutsberryfarm 🏜: hate to say it, but I've been on a beer hiatus lately: trying to keep the carbs (and my weight) down. I only drank the Noel Delirium because it's been in my fridge all this time, and I figured it was time to pop it open.
No, I haven't been to that place.
You still a Stone Brewery fan? The Stone Brewing Bastard and Double Bastard IPAs were two of my favorites!
