Pros - The casting of Tobey Maguire Randy Savage Dunst is pretty hot. J.K. Simmons is one of the great casting choices for a comic book character
Cons - Despite being only 16 years old, it hasn't aged too well. That Green Goblin costume. Just have the balls to go with his classic comic book look. Macy Gray showing up Pumpkin bombs that literally turn people into skeletons

Cons Is nothing like the source material when it comes to the character of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man It was a step back to the campier pre x-men comic book films like Batman and robin/ Superman etc The goblins mask was laughable bad Roger maguire sucks Pros First half was ok Macho man

Pros: -Bruce Campbell's cameo. -Great action. -Maguire is still the best Spider-Man to date. -DaFoe as Green Goblin is still the best villain in a SM film to date. -Just so much fun.
Cons: -Not much to complain here; the effects may not hold up as well and the GG costume is inaccurate, but those are only minor issues.

Pro - I've always liked its look & feel, even if some seems virtually animated like the parade sequence.
Con - I've never been huge on origin stories for CBM, they begin to look & feel all the same.

One bad moment is that "You don't mess with New Yorkers!" part of the movie. I know the movie was written near 9/11, but still.

The only thing I can fault this movie is for some CGI scenes that don't quite work.
But otherwise, I love this film. It has actually gotten better for me as it ages.
Maguire was a great choice. Dafoe was, too. Simmons was flat-out perfect. Enjoy the score and rest of the cast.

I agree with most of that, except I thought the pumpkins bombs that disintegrated people were cool. And I don't think it has aged that poorly.

Pros: Tobey McGuire's performance Excellent supporting cast with highlights to Cliff Robertson and J.K. Simmons The upside down kiss The final fight between Spider-Man and Green Goblin in the alley was brutal and still holds up Danny Elfman's score
Cons: Green Goblin's suit Some of the visual effects haven't aged well Macy Gray's cameo
I don't know if the biological web-shooters is a pro or a con.

Pros:
- Well-conceived and executed origin story. - In many ways, this movie set the template for many superhero movies to come. - Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin - JK Simmons is perfect in the role of J. Jonah Jameson.
Cons:
- The CGI has aged horribly. - The love story involving Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson is laid on too thick.

Pros - Maguire was brilliantly cast and is still the best Spider-Man, in my opinion. Kirsten Dunst's attractiveness. JK Simmons was incredible. The movie's fast-paced and overall pretty fun. Willem Dafoe.
Cons - It's so cornball by today's standards, some of the dialogue and scenes are just cringeworthy. Green Goblin's mask shouldn't have had that stupid permanent facial expression. I never cared much for Raimi's decision to have Parker's web's actually be produced by his body. It felt like something out of a David Cronenberg film. I thought the climatic battle felt too haphazard and kinda rushed.

Pros - Tobey as Spider-Man.
Fantastic action.
Joyful and fun vibe.
The chemistry between the three main leads is awesome (for once).
The Thanksgiving scene is perfectly crafted and even a little chilling.
The fistfight at the end in those ruins is brutal. Very Evil Dead-esque.
It's paced excellently.
Cons - Can't think of anything. The wrestling scene is a little too corny, but it still works. I have no real complaints here other than some blanket "lack of originality" stuff that plagues every comic book movie.
