I've heard little music not in the English language, but I'm curious to know what I'm missing.

Here's a good website to explore. Radiooooo.comPick a country, a decade, your mood (fast, slow, weird), and away you go.

Sometimes I like to listen to modern Native American songs.
Georgia Wettlin Larsen - Ojibway Love Song (tune of 'Turkey in the Straw')
Joanne Shenandoah - I May Want A Man
A. Paul Ortega - Forty-Nine

I've heard little music not in the English language, but I'm curious to know what I'm missing. Dalida singing about Egypt. (If you use subtitles, just be aware the translation is not that good.) Yemeni music, the mizmar. Forget the stupid pictures which have nothing to do with the music, or Yemen. This is a flash mob doing the traditional Lebanese dance, the Dabka, along with a mish mash of other dance styles.

Did you ever come across the Native North America Vol. 1 1966-1985 compilation that was released the other year? If not, I highly recommend it. Willy Mitchell & Desert River Band - Kill'n Your Mind Sugluk - Ajuinnarasuarsunga

No, I haven't heard of it. I googled the song list and I'm going to listen to them on YouTube. Thanks for the info.

I've heard little music not in the English language, but I'm curious to know what I'm missing. I was on YouTube and came across Manigance, a Progressive Power Metal band from France who have several albums in their native French. Here is a video from their latest album, which despite its English language title, appears to have entirely French lyrics: Musically it's pretty decent, but not the kind of album I would buy. Personally, I tend to avoid non-English music. However, I have no problem with a foreign language track on an otherwise English language album - I own at least two such albums. EDIT: And here is Russian heavy/power metal band Trust X who have released a few albums in their native Russian. Again, pretty decent but not the kind of album I would buy. Here's a video from them that's a bit disturbing and has a warning in Russian. I think it says you need to be a least 16 to watch it.
