I watched this one this evening. Not bad. Some spooky moments. 6.5

Thought it was really dumb and lost patience with it, but I have it earmarked for a rewatch.

I really do like the slow build-up and overall eeriness of the two morticians late at night uncovering unusual clues piece by piece as they dissect their Jane Doe corpse. It was a gripping mystery, however when the standard supernatural angle finally kicked in, I thought it lost a little of its edge, but at least the ending packed an effective sting.

I thought it would be terrible, but it did entertain me.

This just about sums up my feelings as well. It's a good setting, and it's well directed considering the confined environment. It built nicely, but many movies that starts with an intriguing premise like this will ultimately disappoint, because they have to answer the core question, and the solution will generally not be as interesting as the mystery itself. Still, I thought it was made with some engaging style and the I agree that the ending at least didn't cop out, even if the supernatural element was standard. Not great, but worth the time. If nothing else you get to watch Bryan Cox be ever reliable.

So simple, but the low-key vibe and chills of the unknown worked. They did so much with very little, and established a good base mystery with somewhat an ambitious idea. It surprised me, for most part, in despite of heading into familiar territory.

Better than I initially expected, nice that they cast some big name actors here like Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch. Brian Cox seems to work a lot, luckily for us, he's a great actor. The movie is creepy and the suspense builds up, and it's disgusting at times, what's not to like?
