I'm trying to even list movies I realize others think are hilarious, but were too dry for me, but these are the obvious ones.

The Grail started big, but now AIRPLANE! is surging to the lead.
SURELY, you're not saying it will win.

I would have voted Other. but that's not a option so i did not vote as none of the movies worth voting for in the comedy genre are on the OP's list for me.
but to list my favorite comedies (which is straight comedies(which i think are the truest kinds of comedies out there) and the drama/comedy variations along with it) (IN NO ORDER)...
-Find Me Guilty (2006) -Thank You for Smoking (2005) -The Matador (2005) -Kingpin (1996) -My Cousin Vinny (1992) -The Whole Nine Yards (2000) -Meet the Parents (2000) -O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) -Happy Gilmore (1996) -Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) -Some Kind of Beautiful (2014-2015) -At Middleton (2013) -We're the Millers (2013) (the best straight comedy in recent memory for sure) -Carnage (2011) -Sideways (2004) -Friday (1995) -Christmas Vacation (1989) -Vacation (1983)
but i will say some of those are a bit less laugh-out-loud than others are and some of those i see as less of a comedy than others as some of those movies don't immediately come to mind when i see the term 'comedy'. but i feel they are close enough so ill list em.
i might have been able to list a bit more (maybe another five movies, give or take a bit) but i won't as they start to tread a bit on what i say below.
p.s. i am sure there is more IMDb lists as 'Comedy' that are amongst my favorite movies in general but some movies listed as comedy don't really seem comedy enough in my mind (as i tend to view comedy as more of the actual laughing type of comedy for the most part, not just that kind that's portrayed in a comedic way at times but not really meant to for someone to laugh-out-loud because of it. i am sure you get the idea.) so ill just skip those. a movie like S1m0ne (2002) i think is a good example for me as it's within my Top 61 movies in general but i don't really see it as a comedy even though IMDb lists it as 'Comedy | Drama | Sci-Fi'. i kinda see it more as a light Drama/Sci-Fi with maybe a little dose of Comedy aspect as it does not really feel serious like your typical Drama/Sci-Fi does and maybe that's where the Comedy angle comes in a bit but in a basic sense when i watch the movie i don't see it as a comedy even though i can kinda see why IMDb lists Comedy as part of it.

I selected Holy Grail, Ghostbusters and Airplane!.
The Naked Gun and Ruthless People would be up there, too, but neither were listed.

My two favorites have not been mentioned yet: Clockwise (1986) Galaxy Quest (1999) Some Like It Hot (1957) usually crops up in lists of the best comedies. Not that crazy about it myself, but many others are. I mainly like Black Comedy. See my thread here with titles suggested by myself and by other posters: imdb2.freeforums.net/thread/4954/black-comedies

The Ancient Greeks invented the word. To them it meant any drama with a happy ending. If we adopt that definition, 90% of films would be eligible for consideration (and 99% of Hollywood productions).
