I'm booked in a hotel room and am currently trying to watch Thor: Ragnarok. Problem is my room's TV has motion-smoothing enabled and they've locked the TV settings so I can't disable it. I hate it. It looks like I'm watching some cheap soap-opera. I'm stuck here for the next 2 weeks and can't imagine wanting to watch much TV with this turned on (I know, first world problems but oh well).
Just curious how you guys feel about this technology? I find more and more TV's have this on by default and a lot of my friends and relatives have it enabled on theirs, either because they like it or they have no idea on how to turn it off. What say you?

Is it where the framerate is increased to 60 FPS instead of whatever the standard FPS for movies is? If so then I honestly hate it. It makes the CGI feel cheap, makes it look like I'm watching a handheld video and just takes me out of the film because it doesn't feel cinematic.

Makes the characters pop out of the background more which makes it look like you're watching a stage play.

I'd never even heard of that. Sounds like a nightmare.

I guess TV's only have that feature these days because it looks good when your playing a video game.

I'd never even heard of that. Sounds like a nightmare. Here's an example I found. It's even worse when you see it in person. Make sure to maximize your screen to really see it. youtu.be/RN_6LXuU128
