I don't know why but I've loved Oakland since before I had memories. No relatives lives in California. No relatives like Oakland. I was born and raised in the Carolinas. There isn't a logical reason why I do. It's been hard being a fan for them. The last 16 years have been brutal. Minus a couple bright spots the 90's were bad. I barely remember the success in early 80's. We've looked good recently, if Carr can stop breaking and dislocating bones. So will you take the over under for Oakland at 8 wins.

Ahhh...Rugby Lite LOL. Nice, my brother says those are fighting words, btw. There are a few Rugby Players that have Youtube channels. They react to American Football. I've always said if Rugby was set up to play like American Football then Rugby players would be wearing 35lbs of armor too. I don't think there is a Rugby player alive who would want to get blown up by a 6'3" 275lb Middle Linebacker who runs like a track star. There are so many situations where American Football Players have the chance to blast someone or be blasted by someone with a hit it's actually almost irresponsible. We know now that it probably is irresponsible with so many CTE cases coming to light. The armor may protect from bones getting broken or other traumatic damage, but there is nothing that will protect your brain. Every hit that floating ball of neurons slams back in forth inside the skull. Like a marble in spray paint. I heard a statistic that if Mom's and Dad's stopped 20% of the kids starting to play Pop Warner in Elementary School then the NFL will crash and burn in 50years. Trickle up ramifications. Less kids learning basics, less teens honing skills, less talent in the draft. When you are already dealing with slimiest of margins between good and mediocre players cutting out that many potentials will lower the skill level of NFL so much people will stop watching it. NFL would float by for half a century but the kiss of death would've already happened.

I would take the over. I will to obviously, but with one condition. Carr doesn't break or dislocated a bone. Btw we might not agree on comic book movies, but I think we have solidarity in the hatred of the Patriots generally and Tom Brady specifically. I still call bullshit on the Tuck Rule.
And if I could resurrect Al Davis (alive he looked like the crypt keeper see.) I'd do it just to kill him again for Trading John Gruden. During 2003 Superbowl Gruden was amazed that Bill Callahan didn't even tweak the offense that Gruden himself installed. He said it was like he was in the huddle with the Raiders on every play. And fuck that loss in the Super Bowl did psychological damage, spiritual damage, mental damage or something. To show you how bad that Superbowl loss was to them, I have to break it down. 1997: Joe Bugles last year = 4-12 1998: Gruden's first year with Raiders = 8-8 1999: Gruden's second year = 8-8 2000: Only his 3rd year still wet behind the ears = 12-4. 1st Place in AFC West Won Divisional Game Lost Conference Game to that years Superbowl champs. The Ravens. 2001: The Tuck Rule Year = 10-6 First in their Division. Won Wild Card Game Got hosed during Conference Game 2002: Gruden traded in Offseason to Tampa Callahan gifted this record= 11-5 Bill Callahan was Gruden's O. Coordinator now Head Coach Callahan didn't change a fucking thing. Superbowl 37 Gruden crushed the OAK by Score and psychologically 2003: Gruden's Psychological destruction of Raiders and Bill manifests.= 4-12 The worst record for a team who was in Superbowl a season before. virtually the same players on the 2002 and 2003 team. Al Davis came popping out of his coffin disgusted with the negative turn around that happened in a year with same staff. Bill Callahan was fired the 2003 offseason.
2004 Norv Turner = 5-11 2005 Norv Turner = 4-12 2006 Art Shell (when in doubt or can't find a Head Coach hire Art)= 2-14 2007 Lane Kiffin host of Kiffin Krimson Korner (thanks Daniel)= 4-12
2008 Lane Kiffin (fired)= 1-3 /Tom Cable (interim)=4-8 2009 Tom Cable = 5-11 2010 Tom Cable Seems Tom has figured out the curse o' the Tuck Rule =8-8 2011 Hue Jackson Spoke to soon. The Crypt Keeper had the final death = 8-8 2012 Dennis Allen Two coaches finished at 500 get fired for this guy = 4-12 2013 Dennis Allen Why are you back??? = 4-12 2014 Dennis Allen Shit you again??? fired = 0-4, Tony Sprano = 3-9 2015 Jack Del Rio Oak boy grows up to be coach of his favorite team = 7-9 2016 Jack Del Rio Oak boy + overachievers (last winning season '02) = 12-4 2017 Jack Del Rio Oak lots of inuries, dropped passes, and deflated qb = 6-10 2018 John Gruden I hate that Jack was fired. I'm excited Gruden is back.
You can notice some trends here. One, Al Davis owned 67% of the team. Also he was virtually their GM. He liked to hold people to impossible standards and throw his weight around. Thus the 11 different Head Coaches in 14 years. Two, The Hot seat in Oakland is always on. Three, we had some bad shit go down in the 90's, but Tom Brady in the Tuck Rule game started a string of lousy luck and play. He always seems to know how to attack your most vulnerable spot even if you hid that it's vulnerable. I can see how Gruden would know Bill Callahan's offense and defense as it was his first. Brady and Belichick always seems to know. It's like they knew the answers to the test and just memorized. So yeah you know how Marvel's Sentry Burns with the power of a million exploding Suns? That accurately describes my hate of Brady and Belichick. And not just for the Tuck game or all the normal season losses to them. People might disagree with me but Brady isn't that great a Qb. Belichick is a great coach. He might lets say bend the rules a bit in his favor. His strategies/play calling can be random at time but they seem to work. Brady is a average quarterback physically. Mentally, he was made to make quick decisions and he is highly adaptable. Add these to Belichick strategies (be them legal or not). Finally, the system Belichick built up around Brady is unique. Belichick system is very adaptable. He fine tunes it based of the talent they have that year. I know a lot of coaches try and do this. Some are better than others, but Belichick is the master of it. I honestly don't know if he comes by this ability naturally or does he get "extra" information. This is where Brady's strong innate ability to adapt comes into play. Last year they had to go more vertical as they didn't have the staff to do the dump passes, over the middle passes, use passing as extension of the run, they did the year before. This called for Brady to hold the ball longer. The plays took longer to develop so the only option was to hold it. This put 40+ year old Tom Brady in the sites of every pass rusher. I begrudgingly give him respect for that. Caring about winning more than your body. Most players can't just uproot their style within an offseason and then implement it well enough to go to Super Bowl. I'm so glad we are coming to the end of Brady's era. Give the man his HOF ring, allow him to sell his shitty mattresses, allow him and his Beard, I mean, wife Gisele Bündchen to live on his private island. (I don't know if he has a private island or not, but he seems like the type of douche that would buy one on impluse) I hope he doesn't get bolstered with confidence based off of Tony Romo's break out year in broadcasting. Tony was great at picking up on defenses and finding wrinkles as a player. He does it in the booth now and it seems like it's a magic trick. It's years of study and practice for him to do it nothing supernatural. Tom has studied like that too. I hope ABC/ESPN, NBC, or Fox don't get a bee in their bonnet to find their version of Romo. I'm afraid it will be Brady after he retires. It's bad enough to watch that douche play. I don't want to here his thoughts, ideas, or opinions on anything. One final anecdote. Superbowl Sunday 2 years ago my job for the party was to run to town and grab the Papa John's Pizzas, chicken wings, Soft and Hard drinks, and grab the chic fa lay tray from neighbor on the way back. He grabbed it on Sat, they have reheating instructions with the Superbowl trays. (I got to say still awesome). Now I know my team isn't in the Superbowl but I still like to dress a certain way on Superbowl Sunday. I had on a white black fitted Raider ball cap, One size to big authentic Khalil Mack jersey, Raider microfiber crazy design PJ bottoms, and black shoes. I'm 6'3" 250. I need to lose about 50 according to my doc. I got to say I do get looks being this big with that outfit. Especially because the PJ bottoms look an awful lot like Zubaz. Papa Johns is packed. More customers and workers than i've ever seen in there. There was a guy, looked 25ish, who was just pacing around dancing here and there. He couldn't stay in line he had to constantly move. This dude is like 5'1" animated and skinny as a rail. He was excited about the game. He was decked out to the 9's in Atlanta gear. He saw me looked me up and down. And says "I know my man here, Too Tall, hates Tom Brady's ass too. He said "Fucking Tuck Rule man, right?" I said under my breath so only he could hear. "Fuck Tom Brady" My man goes "hey hey hey be quite. Hey Jamie." To one of the workers in the back, my man had to scream at top of his lungs for his friend working in back to hear him. He points his fingers at me and yelled, "HE SAID FUCK TOM BRADY!" That made my night, I hope he didn't take the loss that night too bad.
