Hasn't been remade at all works too but I'm especially interested in ones that have been remade before.
The Cat and the Canary, first one, classic, Bob Hope remake, entertaining, 70s and as far as I know, final remake, I thought it was interesting and that was one hell of a makeup job for the 'Cat'. And that said, I know several reasons why a remake today would NOT work, they'd especially take the easy way out and CGI the cat's face, still, as popular as it was, why hasn't it been remade since then?
And Then There Were None. Yeah we know, they changed the ending, still, I liked the 1945 movie, the 60s remake, eh, I know it's been remade a couple times past that, and more recently TV miniseries' but why not a movie remake today?
This one hasn't been remade, but it's a predecessor to And Then There Were None, The Ninth Guest. There's plenty of potential for it to be redone as a modern movie, I'm sure it would be a piece of trash too, still, kind of a 10 Little Indians and House on Haunted Hill rolled into one, it'd be a change of pace.
House of the Long Shadows, which was a remake of Seven Keys to Baldpate, which was remade at least 5 times before the horror greats graced us with their only presence altogether and completely redid the plot from gangsters and politicians to a very bizarre family being killed off by one of their own. Sure, for all the greats the movie had, the actual plot was a bit lacking, and you wouldn't get anybody today who would be as great as Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Vincent Price, etc., but again, why not at least try for the sake of something different?
The Bat. My favorite movie since I was a child, and I've since come to also love its two predecessors which were done very differently from the 1959 version. A lot of people say cheeky, corny, B-movie, etc., but to me it really stuck out, there really was never anything like it, and I loved it for that. Still, they remake House on Haunted Hill, they remake 13 Ghosts, do they suck? Yes. Would a remake of The Bat suck? I have no doubt, all the same, it's been 51 years, what would anybody have to lose from trying a new hand at it?
The Car, another for the 'at all' cateogry. Again, a remake would suck, especially since they'd take the easy way out with cheap CGI effects, but since so many other films from the 70s have been redone, why not this one?
Return of the Living Dead, another 'at all'. The last 2 sequels suck so bad I don't think anybody even talks about them. But what about where it all started? Oh sure, for some reason, it never got as big as Night of the Living Dead, still, Night *has* been remade several times now, so why not Return too?
The Nanny. Nobody can replace Bette Davis, but one closer to the original novel would be interesting.
