The reboots are great games. Why not make them into a movie? Well it clearly doesn't work since they're totally different mediums, and remaking scenes when you don't get to play them is incredibly boring. So you’re upset because they stayed too close to the games? This is why it’s so pointless arguing over video game movies or any source material. You’re complaining because the movie is actually like the video game, but if the movie wasn’t following the games you’d be complaining that it’s nothing like the games. So which one is it?

I'm complaining it wasn't good enough, I never is said it wasn't enough like the games.

I feel like that the people who went into seeing this movie never played the rebooted games. Alicia is very similar to the rebooted Lara. If you had played the rebooted games you would have seen that Lara is very different in them and is not the bad ass she once was. She also never got her dual pistols until close to the end of the first game so of course it makes sense she didn’t have them here. If you haven’t played the rebooted games i’d suggest you do. This is the PROBLEM in a nut shell, with Hollywood.
They expect the audience to have a prerequisite to see a movie and understand it. That's just lazy writing.
If you have to play the 'rebooted' Tomb Raider games to understand the film, then it's just fan fiction for rebooted Tomb Raider fans. The best movies are for EVERYONE. It should be that any person age 5 - 105 can sit down, see the movie, and get it without know it's origin. There were plenty of films from the 1980s and 1990s that were based on games or comics, and we had NO IDEA, they were just good movies.

Tomb Raider 2018 was nothing like you just said. You did not HAVE to play the games to understand the characters and story. It probably would helped in some respects, but it was not necessary.

Literally all I know about the games is that Lara Croft has huge jiggling breasts, and I understood the movie fine.
