Man, this is tough, and not in a good way. Armageddon is so insultingly dumb and Bay at his most Bayish, but there's something pretentious about Deep Impact. And it's so boring until the ending. Guess I too have to go with it by default. At least it didn't have the animal cracker scene.

I don't remember Deep Impact that well because I only saw it once and it's been awhile. I really like Armageddon, though. So I voted for that. But I remember liking Deep Imoact, too.

Armageddon. Its cheesy and dumb science but very fun, like Independence Day. Bruce Willis is great too.

Armageddon. Deep Impact was fine, but the tone felt wrong for a summer blockbuster. There's something about Armageddon that just tickles the lizard part of my brain, which is precisely what I want in movies like that.

Interesting reading through this thread. I'm also a Bay hater but Armageddon is tons of fun, I've always enjoyed it. Having said that, I'm voting Deep Impact. Love that film. It's a 'disaster movie' that doesn't focus on the CGI menace; rather it focuses on people and how they deal with impending doom. I'll admit the Frodo love story is corny as hell, but overall the film is filled with solid performances and the score is fantastic.
Edge to Deep Impact but I legitimately dig both of these movies for entirely different reasons-- ironic considering the basic premise for both films is identical.

Armageddon. It's not good but I don't hate it like I used to. Deep Impact is probably less obnoxious but then again it's quite dull.

Not a fan of either film but I guess I'll take the loud and silly Armageddon over the dull Deep Impact.
