I will say I thought The Dark Knight had an excellent marketing campaign. One of the best I've seen over the last 10 years or so.

Interesting pick, I actually prefer the comic con trailer for that flick. I didn't like the film at all, I wish they had gone with the tone conveyed in this trailer. It's a dark portrayal of extraordinary people whose lives fell apart at some point and who have hit rock bottom, where going on suicide missions for the government is their best option. I love the music, the way it's cut with scenes of their regular lives interspersed with shots of the mission; these people all came from somewhere. They had hopes and dreams like anyone else-- now look at them. It's all so haunting. The movie was terrible, but I still love the hell out of this trailer.

A rare case where the movie is better, but still...

A few of my all time favorites:
I could watch this trailer a million times and it would give me chills every time. Forget 'Interstellar trailer #2;' it should just be called 'The human spirit explained in two and a half minutes.'
Amazing trailer for an amazing film. Road To Perdition is one of the most underappreciated films of all time, and this trailer captures the essence of the movie perfectly. It's what trailers should be.

Recently it has to be this. That is uses my fave Led Zep track doesn't hurt When The Levee Breaks is my favorite Zep track (maybe my favorite song of all time), but Immigrant Song is right up there. Hard to imagine a better cut trailer for the kind of movie Ragnarok was, too. Great stuff.

Also, nice to see a few shout outs for the Godzilla 2014 trailer. I love that trailer. I like the film a lot more than most, I think; but even if it missed the mark for you, you have to admit that trailer is incredible.

Just frightening and leaves you to your imagination (that is for those at the very time who has never seen it, but still! Gives me chills every time):

In 1978, the studio was forced to stop airing this trailer on TV during prime time because too many people were complaining that it was freaking their children out.

I can't possibly remember the trailers for all the movies I've ever seen. This one comes to mind first, though.
