I haven't seen it in a long time, but my prevailing memory is that it was really dull. I just remember long stretches of nothing much happening in a movie that should have had more fun than dumb. And it's called Lake Placid, but it takes place somewhere else entirely.

And yeah, as a lifelong resident of Maine, I can confirm that there is no Lake Placid here. Nor do the game wardens have hair like Bill Pullman's.

I remember it barely even showing the damn croc. Don't know why this is one of the more popular killer croc flicks out there. Does need a rewatch though, I don't really remember much (most notably the scenes with Betty White in which I totally forgot).

It just didn't look that great most of the time.

Enjoyable, fun movie that doesn't take itself seriously.

Nothing special, but for what it is, quiet enjoyable. Betty White inviting someone to dinner.

I enjoyed it. Agree that it never took itself seriously which made it fun.

It's more 'meh' to me. I remember thinking the effects were good and I thought both Betty White and Oliver Platt were funny. Bridget Fonda was loud, shrill, and annoying. Rogue (2007) is the best 'killer croc' movie ever made though.

It's sort of the same style as 'Arachnophobia'(1990). Bit of a laugh with some quirky characters. 7/10

Here and back when it was still up I did versus polls of Lake Flaccid (1999) vs. Deep Blue Sea (1999). Guess which one USUALLY won?

Never got around to watching it.
ALLIGATOR 1980 is the best killer gator movie I have seen.

I don't remember too much about it...but I do remember that it didn't hold my attention very well. Even Betty White couldn't save it...and that's bad!

Lake Flaccid is definitely more like it. It was tough to care for these cardboard characters when they are all so annoying. Failed humor with idiotic dialogue. I will give it credit for a couple of neat gore scenes, but that's it. Primemovermithrax Pejorative is quite correct about Alligator (1980) being the best gator/croc horror movie.
