So as some of our old members have returned it is time to do the famous daily threads once again!
As I am in Australia I already had my dinner. I cooked it myself. Butter Chicken made in gravy of milk and cream with mild spices. I also added a bit of sugar to give it a sweet taste. Had it with basmati rice. It was delicious.
What about you folks? What are you planning for dinner tonight?

These were always some of my favorite threads. Thanks for bringing it back, AJ.
I started out with a pork loin roast. Cut it into cubes, shook them in flour, browned them and then cooked it a long time in chicken broth until it was tender. I added chopped celery, onion, garlic, carrots and potatoes, to make it into a stew. The potatoes cooked down too much, but thickened the broth, so I changed the plan and added chopped green chilies and some shredded sharp cheese. It turned into a pork version of my cheeseburger chowder. We're having leftovers of it tonight with buttermilk biscuits.

I'm not sure, yet ... it's early morning, here. I have several errands to run, and I'll finish by doing some grocery shopping. I'll see what sounds appealing, later.
It's nice having the old thread back, AJ.
UPDATE: I was at Costco, and bought one of their rotisserie chickens ... Mmmm. That will go for a couple of meals, and great soup!

I remember back on old boards when I got confused when people mentioned having 'biscuits with gravy'. I thought how in the whole world one can have gravy with cookies!? Then I came to know that biscuits mean something else in America.
Yeah, I loved these threads too as they vastly improved my knowledge of different kinds of foods.

I'm just making an old reliable from Schwan's, (a frozen food delivery service in the States), we're have their breaded chicken breasts and steamed Brussel Sprouts. WKD is tired when he gets home from work so I like to make things that take only about 20-30 minutes during the week.

made sloppy joe on crusty bread. That's it - no sides, nothing.

I remember the 'biscuits and gravy' confusion. It would seem strange to think we were eating gravy on cookies.
