That's unexpected. Though admittedly, I keep forgetting that it's even coming out.

That's unexpected. Though admittedly, I keep forgetting that it's even coming out. I was always more interested in this film than the Jon Favreau one, so this news is disappointing to me.

So in other words it's not good.

So in other words it's not good. Not necessarily. It could just mean that WB isn’t expecting it to be a big money maker. The movie apparently tested pretty well from what I’ve been hearing. Also, they’re probably worried about the inevitable comparisons to the 2016 film.

It truthfully looked like a big budget Asylum version of Disney’s remake.

Warner Bros, like Paramount earlier this year, has waved the white flag.

Warner Bros, like Paramount earlier this year, has waved the white flag. What do you mean?

I think Warner Bros. dodged a bullet with this one. The comparisons to Disney's The Jungle Book were inevitable, and people were criticizing the motion capture CGI. It would have flopped.

I never said it was going to be bad, but the pre-release criticism and the huge production expenses was enough for Warner Bros. to pull the movie.

I just hope this doesn’t set a trend moving forward, where studios will just dump any movie they have no faith in straight to Netflix. There needs to be more risks.

Considering Netflix never releases their movies on physical release, it means most people will never get a chance to see them. Not everyone has Netflix or can afford it.

It will now get a limited theatrical release. Plus a new title or subtitle called Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. At this point, people are gonna think it's a prequel to The Legend of Tarzan. Remember that?
