I'll say I'm 90% certain that no one else will choose this one, but I'll say short cuts because ( and this might sound stupid ) but I think it's the most perfect ending that I've seen really, in some ways. Because the ending doesn't really resolve anything, but the thing is the whole movie is pointless in the first place. The ending literally takes place in the middle of a pointless scene, which the movie is full of. The thing is in most movies you kinda wonder what will happen next with the characters in a movie(at least one that does not have sequels), but in this one, you don't care about that because there's no real plot to resolve in the first place.
I dunno, I could be wrong.

Since it's too difficult to pick just one, this is my Top 5 (though I'd probably change my mind regarding some of these depending on my mood) in alphabetical order...
**spoilers below if you haven't watched the films**
Casino Royale (2006).
Cruel Intentions (1999).
Gladiator (2000).
Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977).
Superman (1978).

That New Hope scene is kinda stupid where they're all standing there like dorks. Casablanca. With Chewbacca asking “Where is my medal?”

By far, L'été meurtrier (One deadly summer - www.imdb.com/title/tt0086655/?ref_=nv_sr_1 ) The last 20 minutes is just one big crescendo that will make your jaw drop. Adjani gives a stellar performance (not just because she appears naked), the narration is interesting because each important character has his/her time to narrate the story has it goes and the story is both tragic and mysterious. It may be hard to find, especially if you don't speak french but it's worth it. Honorable mentions: - Chinatown (1974) - Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
