I think it happens to me once every 2 or 3 years. Last was from bread omelette ( Nov 2017).

Of course. Has anybody ever gone through life without getting food poisoning? I doubt it, we all get mild food poisoning. We get\unexplained diarrhea for a day maybe half a day I'm sure it food related most of the time

I got really sick once after eating in a Chinese restaurant and ended up in the hospital. I told the chef/owner about it later and he got angry. Needless to say, I never went back again.

One time I had a beer with dinner, then an alcohol-laced dessert and a Hawaiian coffee, and it was all I could do to prevent myself from throwing up.

Shrimp - it turned out I developed a shellfish allergy in my late 30's. I was lucky and just had hives on my mouth and my throat started to itch but did not close up. This happened twice in a 3 month period so I went to the Dr. and he said I had the allergy and to just stay away from shellfish. Food allergies should not be taken lightly. I've had true food poisoning, once was from a greasy brownie from a Walgreen's lunch counter in the 70's, I was sick for over a week. I also got sick from a piece of cheesecake years later , I was stuck on the "porcelain throne" with a bucket between my knees for 10 days. Both times I saw a Dr. after the fact and was told that had I come in sooner, I would have been put in the hospital, I have a big aversion to bedpans - that's why I waited - I lived on "jello water" while going through this. I managed to get dysentery twice in Greece ( wasn't careful about the water) and was very miserable.
Now that I'm an old lady, I've become fussier about what I consume.

I used to travel to India often. One time I was doing a job at a factory there and it was very hot and I was constantly asking for water. The locals drank from water bottles that were refilled God knows where, but they knew to always bring me sealed bottles β except one time the guy brought me a plastic bottle that had clearly been refilled. I hesitated and then thought that if I refused it, they might think "Look at this arrogant asshole foreigner who thinks he is too good to drink this perfectly safe water that we all drinkβ β so I took it. Sure enough, I got quite sick.
Aside from that, I remember getting sick after eating a wurst of some sort at Munich train station, and after eating a pre-packaged sushi tray.

The water I got sick from was "rebottled" water, one time it was at the tourist place I worked at, the cook was refilling water from the tap without anyone knowing. At the time the time, water was stored in tanks on the roof of the kitchen area. Everyone who drank this water got dysentery and there were few toilets so you can imagine people were going behind bushes. Crazy 70's. Another time I drank tap water in a village, I don't think the water was "dirty", I think it was just bacteria my body was not used too because none of the villagers got sick.
