Have there been any films about those brave African-American pilots and bombardiers who played a large part in the Allied victory in WWII--and maybe the eventual integration of the American Armed Forces?
Also, are any of these courageous men still alive?

The 1995 HBO TV Movie THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN with Laurence Fishburne, Cuba Gooding Jr, and Andre Braugher deals with their WW2 heroic exploits.

Most recently, RED TAILS (2012) which George Lucas produced. Schmaltzy to the point you think it's a stealth parody of WW2 movies, but the flying scenes and action is great.

They also get a mention in Flight (2012) dir: Robert Zemeckis. The protagonist, Denzel Washington, is a drug-addicted airline pilot who is all too conscious of disgracing the memory of his heroic Redtail father.
Only one scene, but it was the first I had heard of them. I had to Wiki to check that it was not a fictional reference.
