I love it as well… I wrote some comments about it in London’s con-artist thread, if I’m remembering correctly. I think it’s lovely, ebullient, and effortlessly charming, much like Lubitsch. A gem indeed.

I believe you mean Jewel Robbery (1932). Yes, a charming "gem" of a film, to be sure. Had a great scenario where Powell hands out marijuana cigarettes to various unsuspecting people, getting them quite goofy. Good stuff!
On TCM a few years ago, after the movie was shown, Robert Osborne made the comment in his outro that at the time this film was released, curious people were actually writing the studio asking where they could get some of those cigarettes that make you all goofy. LOL

A chic, glamorous bauble. Possibly the best of several teamings of Powell with Kay Francis, Paramounts up and coming vamp. She's the Countess who discovers she quite likes being robbed by Powell . And yes, the "jazz cigarettes" scene is fun.
