Ok... that didn't really address any of the points I made. The point isn't comicbook accuracy, because really what's you're assurance that DCEU Supergirl will be any closer to CW Supergirl? The point is that we already have an ongoing show, under DC property, that showcases the exact same character as what they plan to use in a movie. Not only that but they have a plethora of yet untapped characters that can be used for movies. There was no need to double-book the Supergirl character. At this point it just seems DC is taking the lazy route. Assurances? The fact it has been straight out said the 'Supergirl' movie will be significantly different than the TV Show and be more in line with the comic books meaning we will get a more aggressive and edgy character which we should have got in the show had they not turned Kara Zor-El into a female version of Clark Kent. Yes, we already have an ongoing show - we also have an ongoing show of 'The Flash' with Barry Allen but I didn't see anybody complaining about that when they could have gone with the original Flash, Jay Garrick or Bart Allen/ Impulse instead if they wanted to do something different. Let's not forget we have had dozens of Superman adaptions with Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Gerard Christopher, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh and Henry Cavill and we even have Superman in the 'Supergirl' TV show played by Tyler Hoechlin. Many of those have done the character justice over the years in movies and TV shows. Same can't be said about 'Supergirl' and we have yet to have one adaption that is like the comic books. We can say it is Warner Bros taking the lazy path but I doubt the opinion would be that if it was Green Arrow. Supergirl is one of DC's biggest selling and most well known superheroes and she is also one of their most powerful and is more powerful than Superman. It makes perfect sense to have her in the DCEU. Just because they mentioned that movie Supergirl will be "different" than CW Supergirl and that she will be "edgy" doesn't mean that she will be comic-accurate nor that she'll be any good. "Edgy" is the go to word of the DCEU, thinking that it will magically make things better. They tried to make both Superman and Batman edgy... and that turned out pretty bad for them. They're also trying to make Aquaman edgy... I hope that works out. Anyway my point is just because they said they will make her edgy is no assurance that she'll be any better than CW Supergirl. As for Flash: I don't know what rock you were living under, but there was a huge uproar from fans when they found out JL was casting a different Flash from CW Flash. Till now there are a number of blogs, threads and articles comparing the two of them, with movie Flash usually fairing the worse.

Till now there are a number of blogs, threads and articles comparing the two of them, with movie Flash usually fairing the worse. Superman and Batman weren't edgy and aggressive. They were dark and brooding and it worked for the most part with Batman in Tim Burton's film and a lot of people forget up until that movie Batman was mostly known for being a light superhero thanks to the Adam West show with the "bangs" and "kapows" during the fighting scenes, the Bat Dance and the "Der ner ner ner ner ner ner...Batman!" song. Going in a darker direction for the movie helped and if they had stayed with the version most people were familiar with it most likely would have flopped and Batman wouldn't be as popular as he is today. There is a huge difference between having superheroes that are dark and brooding in movies with a dark tone and superheroes that are edgy and aggressive like Supergirl is and we have yet to have a truly edgy and aggressive female character in a movie and the 'Razor' movie will be the first one. The difference between Supergirl and Superman is Kara is supposed to be pissed off, angry and full of rage and take out her anger on villains. Just like Razor enjoys cutting people's heads off with her blades and having their blood over her Supergirl enjoys fighting and goes looking to beat the crap out of villains and is very creative with how she takes them down like The Crow. She also doesn't have a problem with killing and while Superman may have killed Zod in 'Man of Steel' Superman didn't enjoy it the way Linda Danvers did for example, when she tore a person's head off. That is the difference there. Her rage often has her crossing the line and making people scared of her.
Whether the movie turns out to be good or not remains to be seen but one of the former sexist executives already robbed us of a Supergirl/ Linda Danvers movie in the early 00s Peter David was said to be writing himself 'cause he didn't want an edgier Supergirl than Superman on screen despite many at DC saying it could have been a massive hit and got a lot of Buffy fans with its Horror themes. I saw the angry Grant Gustin fans and they were mostly the same fans who are angry Felicity isn't in the DCEU.

Rumor is that Reed Morano (The Handmaid's Tale) is being eyed to direct it.

Rumor is that Reed Morano (The Handmaid's Tale) is being eyed to direct it. I heard the good news and they are an interesting choice and with Sydney Sweeney having appeared in 'The Handmaid's Tale' recently and she might have even more chances of getting the role of Supergirl.

So in light of recent developments with the Flash movie, I guess this is no longer happening?
