Seeing as we seem to be having a bit of a Spider-man theme at the moment I'm curious as to who mourn favourite Spider-man villain actually is.
From the movies I mean and all six of them.
I'd say probably Vulture was the best or Doctor Octopus.
I think I preferred Vulture as a character over Doctor Octopus but I suppose from an action point of view he was not as interesting. He had a flying hi tech suit and he shot a laser gun so a cheap version of Iron Man where Doctor Octopus was a bit more unique.
Aside from that they haven't particularly been that great. Green Goblin was a tad campy. Venom was a huge disappointment. Sandman was entirely forgettable. New Goblin....no. Lizard was alright. Electro was lame. The other Green Goblin was.... inbetween the other two Goblins I suppose and Rhino was utterly pointless.
Not a good track record now that I think about it. Oh there was Shocker too and even he was wasted.

Gobby was my fave. Ock and Vulchie were also good.

Oh, in the movies? Either Doc Ock or Green Goblin.
I love that scene in the first Spider-Man where Dafoe’s Osborn sees Peter dripping blood. Boy that’s a good movie… It’s strange—I think someone else said this around here recently—that a Spider-Man movie is a non-event now. I remember when it was a huge deal, when Spider-Man and its sequels were the ne plus ultra of superhero movies. Then Nolan and Batman Begins came along and that was a big deal, yet it wasn’t parasitic on Spider-Man’s (and Spider-Man 2’s) success—but, rather, symbiotic. Both movies were considered achievements that brought charm, popular appeal, and a sense of wonder to superhero movies.
Why don’t we have that any more? Probably just too many superhero movies all at once; as I recently wrote elsewhere, quoting Roger Ebert’s review of The Phantom Menace, “how quickly do we grow accustomed to wonders. I am reminded of the Isaac Asimov story ‘Nightfall,’ about the planet where the stars were visible only once in a thousand years. So awesome was the sight that it drove men mad. We who can see the stars every night glance up casually at the cosmos and then quickly down again, searching for a Dairy Queen.” One can only respond with a sigh.

Still Doc Ock. He’s humanized, he’s motivated, and then by the end, he’s redeemed.

Still Doc Ock. He’s humanized, he’s motivated, and then by the end, he’s redeemed. yes..a well rounded villain. and the fact that Spider-Man 2 put this in one film shows the genius of the film.

Comics GG/Osborn is a well loved character, but Dafoe’s take is often marred by the power ranger mask. (I am one of the few that had fun with AS-M2, though)

Doc Oc. Sandman was the best thing about 3 (Haden Church was excellent) and was wasted in that film.
