It had so much promise. So much potential to make a statement to be an anti-death penalty movie. But nope. All it is, is a two hour set up just to get to a shocking twist ending. For any other movie that is not politically motivated it would have worked. Such as Sleven or The Mist for examples. It just didn't fit in with this one. Because it didn't work, it makes the whole movie pointless and a waste of time. Don't bother.
If you want to watch a powerful movie that makes a statement about the DP, watch Dead Man Walking instead.

I wouldn't go that far, but yeah, the ending is stupid and a twist for the sake of a twist.

Never saw it but it surprises me considering how talented Alan Parker was.
