the united states of hysteria

a breeding ground
for homogenized stupid
and right before
cupid
withdrew all his arrows
there was a glimmering sign
that read
let he who is without spin
shed 
all pretense of preaching to the already 
brain dead
because 
were this country ever to wed
integrity with what they're calling well read
i'm afraid
there wont be enough room
in that gulag
you're calling a wondrous feather bed.
