Willy Loman. Especially when he's reminiscing about Biff's shortlived sports glory.
Holden Caulfield. So you think you're the only person who's got problems, pal?

I have never been angry at a fictional character. I find the thought amusing.

Quite a few from Jane Austen could have done with a good slap in the puss. Lydia Bennett, Caroline Bingley, Mrs. Norris, Maria Bertram, Mr. and Mrs. Elton, and Lucy Steele to name a few. Occasionally even an Austen heroine can provoke a momentary desire to pop 'em one: Fanny Price, Emma Woodhouse and Jane Fairfax all come to mind.

The first that come to mind are from Jane Austen's books. Lydia Bennet, Caroline Bingley, Mr. Collins, Lady Catherine - all from Pride and Prejudice; the Elliots, other than Anne of course, from Persuasion.

when I was a child, Mary in the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. before she became blind she was an odiously smug goody-goody. I hated her.
as an adult, nobody. You can't solve anything by hitting people.

The first that come to mind are from Jane Austen's books. Lydia Bennet, Caroline Bingley, Mr. Collins, Lady Catherine - all from Pride and Prejudice; the Elliots, other than Anne of course, from Persuasion. LYdia being a healthy robust girl would undoubtedly give as good as she got. Caroline Bingley probably would as well. lady Catherine would summon the servants and have you horsewhipped. mr Collins would merely issue a dignified rebuke I imagine. Elizabeth Elliot would undoubtedly hit back, Sir Walter would probably just summon the servants and have you chucked out - probably into the pond or the dung heap.

Catherine and Heathcliff. heathcliff would beat you to a pulp. Catherine would thrash you with her riding whip. They are both well over 200 years old at this point. I am pretty sure I could take them.
