...would you do it? Not how old you are when you die, just how it happens. Now something like Alzheimers you could probably just assume "Well at least I'll make it to my old years", where as dying in a car accident obviously could happen at any age.

Probably not.
I can't figure out why I would want to know.

Not really it would make one fear to do things, dying in a car accident you'd avoid driving or being in a car and it would unecessarily complicate your life, not to mention the stress. What if you see you would die of an uncurable disease? murdered? in childbirth? choking on food? so many possibilities so many traumas.
Live life take precautions and enjoy your moments.

I believe I know approximately when I'm going to die but I'm not sure how. It's made me very conscious of my time and how I spend it, but I could be wrong, and if I'm wrong then it is as you said, and it could happen anytime. Perhaps this is a case where not knowing is preferable to knowing. I'm assuming your question is about foreseeing one's own death but being unable to change the time of death or the circumstances.

NO I don't think I would. I agree it would make one very stressed and cause a lot of trauma especially if it were a very violent and painful death.

That could just as easily go the other way. If you knew you were going to die of ... let's say cancer, there'd be almost no limit to the things you could do with no fear of death. Skydiving? Sure. Fugu dinner? No worries. Move to Sierra Leone? If that's your cuppa tea, yeah, sure why not?

I don’t engage in idle speculation about nonsensical concepts like foresight. No one can see into the future because it hasn’t happened yet. The future is entirely unpredictable. Consider this: If you can see yourself dying in a plane crash next week, you’d obviously avoid flying for that time period, thereby ensuring that you don’t die in a plane crash. And since you don’t die in a crash, then you have changed the future. Meaning that the future you “saw” doesn’t really happen, and therefore wasn’t really the future. It was just a dream or your imagination.

I don't care that much, but I'd probably find out just out of curiosity. Otherwise I'd always wonder about it, which would get annoying eventually.

Agreed.
in the end I would not want to know unless it's one of those things by knowing you could avoid etc.

I was somewhat baffled by this comment so had to look it up, the main language of Sierra leone is english... so is this a swipe at my english? As a matter of fact Erjen I have already learned, english, spanish, german (though my skills in this one have lapsed) and sign language, and I speak french and creole so no matter where I choose to move don't worry about my communication skills i'm sure i'll pick up the language le plus rapidement que possible.

No, it wasn't a swipe at your English. I was just trying to be humorous (and failing apparently). Wikipedia listed three languages for Sierra Leone, and none of them were ones I had heard of before. EDIT -- Just went back there and saw that the official language of Sierra Leone is English.

I remember Big Fish was loosely based on this premise, the main character was not concerned with danger because a witch had already told him when he would die.
He was with friends at the time and throughout their lives, they forgot.
So if this were to happen, it's possible we would only concern ourselves with it if it were imminent or far off.
