Often. But it goes the other way as well. I have a look and it rarely varies, so people become accustomed.

Yes. When I was younger I used to get told I dressed like a bimbo and a tart by some people but I mostly get compliments.

Yes, always. And the thing is, I just try hard to find clothes that are neat looking, stylish without looking overboard, and just something that fits me well.
Problem is I am short but have a normal upper body. Any short sleeve shirts in medium size are way too tight in my chest and shoulders, and if it is a short sleeve shirt the sleeves will look like I'm trying to show off my biceps by wearing a shirt that is too tight. When I get a large shirt it fits properly other than it being way too long. And I always like to wear shoes with thicker soles, or bigger shoes that I can fill with insoles. So pants and jeans kind of need to cover up my large shoes. And I hate wearing shorts because then I have to wear normal casual or athletic shoes, instead of shoes that help my height. So in the summer when I go out I'm always wearing jeans no matter how hot it is outside.
I always feel like I look stupid. My friend's girlfriend once said that I look like I am "trying too hard". But the same girl once also noted when I looked messy because I was trying out a more natural hairstyle and dressing really casual.

my ex actually did very passively. How old are you?
I only ask because the last time anyone tried to school me on my fashion sense I was a child.
So either you dress so badly that SOMEONE had to finally tell you, or... she's a snob.

some people are just trashy straight up and changing their clothes won't help them much.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if that's happened. However, as I don't give a fuck, it's not a problem.

I get compliments on how I dress, except for my shoes. Be it my dress shoes (which clunk when I walk and are very long), my yellow Bruce Lee shows, my green hunter sneakers, etc. Cant seem to pick out a good pair

I guess i wear too many regular t shirts. Nothing dressy or snazzy.

Your friends girlfriend doesn't have a say in how you dress. She's not giving you pussy. She's giving your friend pussy. She can opine on how HE dresses. You do you!
"Trying too hard." As opposed to what, not trying hard enough?! What the fuck does she dress like? Is she a super model with a degree in fashion? Man, I'd have a long ass run on sentence in response to that shit!

Some close friends and family members have noted that I wear a lot of black and grey stuff. They want me to wear more bright cloths although they agree black looks good on me.

There was a girl I went out with s few times who complained that I didn't tuck in my shirts. Then there was a girlfriend who was an artistic type and who tried to change the way I dressed from "dorky" (according to her) to something cooler (again according to her).

I normally wouldn't care, but she has some really hot friends. Then get one of them to give you pussy and she can talk about your fashion sense.
